“A true mobile weapons platform, the Predator is able to move quickly without interrupting fire of its shoulder-mounted cannons. It an ideal unit for outmaneuvering our enemies.” — Barca[1] |
The Predator is the Beta's walking tank.
The Predator is the Beta’s earliest prototype of a mobile weapon platform. Able to move while firing its shoulder-mounted cannons, it is an ideal unit for outmaneuvering enemies.[2]
Background[]
The Predator is the Beta's first attempt while stranded on Ecosystem Nine to craft a vehicle with specific military purpose. The Predator is a very recent design, and has not yet been fully tested in combat situations. The canopy holds four high-velocity cannons that fire in a burst and can rotate a full 360 degrees, allowing the Predator to skirmish with enemies. The Predator is named for its ability to effectively chase enemies while also firing on them.
Overview[]
Even though it was the Beta’s earliest prototype of a mobile weapon platform, the Predator is still a highly effective part of Beta forces. The rotating cockpit and shoulder-mounted cannons give it a high degree of maneuverability, allowing it to move as it delivers devastating blows to its targets.
Tips[]
- Predators have the ability to move and shoot at the same time. Use this to your advantage to kite less mobile units.
- Predators can mount walls, providing an effective defense against ground units for a Beta base.
- The target acquisition upgrade gives the Predator the ability to re-target enemies mid-salvo, making it more useful against large groups of enemies.
Tech upgrades[]
Target acquisition The Predator's volley of 4 shots is reduced to single fire shots, allowing them to re-target each shot as needed. |
